To be eligible for consideration, nominee must be a non-profit organization and a member in good standing of the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce, with a minimum of two complete years in operation. Chamber members may nominate a business, including their own, for consideration. Evaluation and selection of the Not-For-Profit Organization of the Year Award will be conducted by the Chamber Board of Directors. Board members with any conflicts will recuse themselves from the judging process.

All nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee. Decisions will be based on active participation in a variety of community roles. Nomination for Citizen of the Year ideally includes letters of support from any number of individuals representing churches, clubs, sport groups, civic organizations, educational groups and other activities demonstrating the community spirit of this nominee. Individuals may provide letters of support for more than one nominee however support letters must be submitted individually along with a separate Nomination Form.

EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR NOMINATION

While all teachers strive to improve the lives of their students, only a special few will leave a legacy of excellence. This award is presented to a Hueytown area educator who has encouraged “Excellence in Education”.

Educators are not confined to a classroom. Other educators such as Librarian, School Nurse, Counselor, Coach or Principal may be considered.
